CEO

Will Avery is an accomplished coach, former NBA player, and Georgia native dedicated to developing the next generation of basketball players on and off the court. As Co-Founder of Blue 5 Basketball, Will leads a team of experienced coaches committed to helping athletes grow through teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Blue 5 Basketball embodies his belief that true success comes from five players working in harmony toward a shared goal.

Ryan Bacheller

Director of Operations

Ryan Bacheller is a passionate educator and sports management professional dedicated to making a positive impact on young athletes both in and out of the classroom. From 2017 to 2024, Ryan served as a physical education teacher for grades K–8 at Augusta Preparatory Day School, where he inspired students to stay active, build confidence, and develop healthy habits through sports and fitness.

Beyond the classroom, Ryan made a lasting mark as a coach, helping student-athletes grow in skill, discipline, and teamwork. He led the girls’ varsity basketball team as head coach (2023–24) and served as assistant coach for the boys’ varsity squad (2020–24), guiding Augusta Prep to three GISA region titles. He also coached cross country and soccer, with his teams winning multiple Augusta Aiken Middle School League championships.

Ryan’s creativity extended to the school’s branding and marketing efforts, where he reimagined the athletics program with a new logo and coordinated campaigns that increased community engagement. His experience in graphic design, photography, and content creation—including work featured by The Augusta Press—has helped elevate the visibility of student-athletes and school programs alike.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan is committed to helping kids reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love for sports and self-improvement.

Morgan Cato

Marketing Manager

Morgan Cato brings energy, organization, and hands-on experience in athletics operations to her role as Marketing Manager. In 2024, she worked as a Recruiting Coordinator for NCSA (Next College Student Athlete), helping student-athletes and their families navigate the recruiting process and find the right college fit.

In 2023, Morgan joined Duke Football as part of the On-Campus Recruiting Staff, managing visits and interactions between prospective student-athletes and the program. From 2018–2022, she served as a Recruiting and Operations Assistant for Georgia Southern University’s Eagle Football program.

Morgan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University in 2022. Born and raised in Statesboro, Georgia, she now resides in Appling, GA with her husband Austin, their young son, and two dogs. She is passionate about helping athletes grow both on and off the field, blending operational expertise with a personal commitment to their success.

Mike Stephenson

Trainer

Mike Stephenson is a dedicated basketball trainer from Augusta, Georgia, specializing in developing strong fundamentals, confidence, and game-ready skills for athletes of all levels. With nine years of training experience, Mike emphasizes discipline, consistency, and creating a positive environment where players can thrive.

He approaches basketball as more than a sport, using it as a tool to teach character building, teamwork, and resilience. Whether preparing athletes for tryouts or guiding them to the next level, his goal is to help players unlock their full potential while fostering a love for the process.

Mike attended Glenn Hills High School and played collegiately at Gordon State College and Johnson C. Smith University, bringing firsthand experience to his coaching and training methods.

Josh Dorsey

Trainer

Josh Dorsey is a developing basketball trainer from Augusta, Georgia, combining competitive playing experience at the high school and collegiate levels with a passion for mentoring athletes on and off the court.

Josh’s approach emphasizes perseverance, faith, and resilience. He focuses on technical skill development while cultivating the mindset, discipline, and work ethic athletes need for long-term success in basketball and in life.

Josh is a graduate of Cross Creek High School and played collegiately at Albany State University and Bob Jones University.

Jordyn Dorsey

Trainer

Jordyn Dorsey is a high-achieving basketball trainer and student-athlete from Augusta, Georgia, known for her leadership, competitive excellence, and dedication to mentoring the next generation of athletes.

Most recently, Jordyn graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Med in three years and began her Master’s program. During her collegiate career, she served as team captain for three years, earned First Team All-CAA honors in consecutive seasons (2023–24 and 2024–25), set the school record for career assists with 398, and received multiple accolades including CAA Conference Player of the Week, HBCU All-Star, HBCU All-America First Team, and All-Defensive Team.

Jordyn began her basketball journey at Cross Creek High School, where she was Class of 2021 Valedictorian, led her team as captain to a state championship and two semi-final appearances, and broke the school’s all-time scoring record with 1,952 points. She also competed with an AAU team against top regional programs.

Outside of basketball, Jordyn mentors youth through her annual Jordyn Dorsey Youth Basketball Camp, volunteering at the local YMCA, and guest coaching at summer basketball camps. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and sharing meals and laughter together.
