Starting my rookie season overseas in Adana, Turkey has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. The style of play is different, there is a  language barrier, and everything from the food to the daily routines feels new. But each day, it definitely got better and I got more comfortable as time went on.

One of the biggest adjustments has been adapting to the pace and structure of the game here. Basketball here is slower, more intentional, and heavily focused on running and executing sets. It’s a game built on IQ and decision-making rather than just pure athleticism or skill. I’m proud to say I’ve already had a few 20-point performances and some standout defensive games that reminded me why I’m here and what I bring to the court.

Off the court, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss home. But at the same time, there’s so much to explore here in Adana. I’ve tried new foods, walked through markets, and made a real effort to immerse myself in the culture. The team and staff have been incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they’ve done everything they can to help me feel at home.

Overall, this journey has been a true learning experience. Playing professionally overseas is something I’ve always dreamed of, and now that I’m living it, I’m grateful every single day. I’m growing as a player, as a person, and as someone who is learning to embrace the world far beyond my comfort zone!
